Studio Artist and instructor Jean
Cheely has been working with glass since 2001. Her works in stained glass have
been installed in private residences and public venues. Her studio includes
four kilns where she fuses, forms and casts glass. She has studied under nationally known glass artists at The Studio; The Corning Museum of Glass, Arrowmont School of Arts and Pittsburgh Glass. Cheely employs varying techniques to
accomplish her unique designs including combing, stretching canes, pattern
bars, vitrigraph and casting.
She
is an Award Winning artist who works to maximize the play of light using color,
texture and shapes to display the beauty of the glass. A careful process of
heating and cooling is required to create
art glass including vessels, art panels, sculptures and components for her
unique jewelry. All of her designs are original and the glass is hand cut.
